Update (9/15/04): Our 2nd Vice-Chairman, Mike Tosh, was quoted in an article in Sunday's paper! The State Journal-Register reporter interviewed him at the Candlelight Vigil (mentioned below). Scroll down to the very end of the piece for Mike's quote.
GREAT MEETING
Thanks very much to those of you who attended this week's
first-of-the-semester meeting for the UIS CRs. (If they are ever again that late in delivering our pizza, I think
Pizza Hut ought to cater our future meetings for free.)
LRH is loud, but I don't recall it ever being this bad when we've had meetings there in the past. Things should run more smoothly next time, though.
If you missed the meeting,
here is the agenda of things we went over.
We will let everyone know when we hold our next meeting. Until then, the
Republican Trivia contest is open to all members (those who attended the meeting, or who are on our e-mail list). The prize this time is a
brand-new FM Autoscan radio.
One very important issue that we went over at the meeting, which is pertinent to today and tomorrow, is the 3rd anniversary of the
September 11, 2001 tragedies. I discussed several things that CRs are encouraged to do in remembrance of this anniversary. The UIS College Republicans'
9/11 Remembrance Projects are explained somewhat in the entry below. (That is just a brief overview however... For more info, please contact us.)
Thanks, and we're looking forward to a great year!
