Black History MonthBecause we spent half of February either planning for, or being at,
CPAC [we need to post coverage and photos from this event here soon], and due to a number of other factors, we were not able to go through with our plan for this month.
But that is okay, because
every month should be a time for studying, and learning about, "Black History." The history of black Americans is not just "black history" - it is
American history.
The UIS College Republicans is proud to have such a diverse group of people who are attending our meetings, and participating in our activities. The above-mentioned plan for Black History Month was regarding a suggestion from the National Black Republican Association. The
NBRA has asked that we do a public screening of a documentary film,
Emancipation, Revelation, Revolution. The website for this movie is
www.errvideo.com.
(This documentary was shown the
Liberty Film Festival, and is presented in conjunction with the
Renaissance Women Network.)

We plan to arrange a public screening of this film at some point after Spring Break. In the mean time, here are some pertinent links and resources, for this occasion.
