In prior years, the UIS CRs has been greatly-involved in local races... Some of that info has been posted here; much of it has been on Facebook,etc. as well.
Like we did for these same races four years ago (2009), I'm going to post an Election Day notice here, re-posted from the Facebook Group.
In Springfield, the Election 2013 races are far less-competitive than in Spring 2009. (That semester, the UIS CRs helped defeat the incumbent Springfield School Board President.)

ALL: ELECTION DAY is today! Local elections actually have a greater impact on our day-to-day lives than the state & national ones do... And in prior elections, the UIS College Republicans has been recognized for their involvement in these races!
If you're registered to vote in Springfield, Capital Township & Park Board will be on your ballot.
Our candidates for CAPITAL TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE are:
